About the brand partner

Benjamin Rabier 

After returning from the First World War, Léon Bel created a new product, a modern processed cheese with an exceptional shelf life, thanks to its packaging in an airtight metal box. On April 16, 1921, he registered the brand name La Vache qui rit® as well as the first illustration of the box, a laughing cow.

However, Léon Bel was not satisfied with the result and launched a contest that Benjamin Rabier won with the design of a pretty, mischievous cow. Léon Bel decided to tint this cow's head red and, on the advice of his wife, to adorn it with earrings in the shape of a box of La Vache qui rit® cheese, thus creating an image that could be reproduced over and over again... An icon was born...

Benjamin Rabier also owes his fame to his duck Gédéon, also born in 1923, hero of seventeen albums.

  • Le dessin : les chaussettes classiques de Label et les collaborations sous licence sont imaginées dans nos bureaux, en France, à Paris (75), et par nos artistes à travers l'hexagone.
  • La conception : nos chaussettes sont fabriquées en France, en Haute vienne, chez Broussaud Textiles, aux Cars (87).
